I just found your blog and website today...Hi Maya,

I just found your blog and website today after a long internet search about scientific progress/discoveries dealing with gender/sex and sexual differentiation. Anyway, I read a comment you posted on one of the webpages I was reading about the DMRT1 and FOXL2 genes being responsible for the development and maintenance of ovarian/testicular tissues and I found your blog that way.

I've read a bit of your medical history/your experience that you have posted on your main site and have watched on of your videos, and I just wanted to tell you that I think you're a really amazing person--you have a beautiful soul : )

Anyway, my situation isn't the same as yours, but I too was born with a biologically gender variant condition. I don't know if I would classify myself as intersex, but I don't classify myself as transsexual or transgender either (because I have very real medical symptoms of something else). I've known there was something different about me since I was a very small child and since the age of about 8 I've been studying different conditions and the genetics of gender as time permits trying to figure out what the heck is going on with me. I've tried to seek medical help from various doctors in the US, but unfortunately I find that I am a lot more knowledgeable about conditions like this than any doctor I can afford.
Also, I was wondering if you've read about Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome--it's an intersex condition that often results in situations like yours (judging only from what I have read on your blog so far).

Anyway, I'm sorry you have and are going through so much in your life. I can't say I understand what you are going through--I don't, but I can say I can definitely relate to it.

I've had a lot of nightmares throughout my life too--both the kind you have when you are awake and the kind that you have to live through.... And I know it's hard and I wish I could just give you a hug right now and tell you how amazing I think you are : )

Anyway, I would love to talk with you if you would like.
